Sapruel is a minor recurring demon that was among the many who attacked Tokyo. He appears in the original Devilman manga.

Appearance

Sapruel was a humanoid demon with insect-like qualities, he had large sack like parts behind his neck, sharpened teeth, large black eyes and antenna. His body was covered in lumps.

History

After Zennon had announced the forthcoming demon invasion across the world, it took only five minuets for a swarm of devils to begin descending down upon the cities of the world, killing and destroying all they could.

Sapruel was first seen lying in a pool of his own blood nearby several other demons, after Akira Fudo had fought with him and a great many more demons.

Later, having seemingly healed from his wounds, Sapruel is seen amongst the many demons who swarm in on Ryo Asuka at his home in an attack spearheaded by Psycho Jenny, and could be seen nearby Esunotto and Jurad. Shortly after, Psycho Jenny restores Ryo's memories as the fallen Angel Satan.

Trivia

• In spite of first showing up as a corpse, Sapruel returns live and kicking afterwards. One could potentially make a in-universe explanation such as the demon having recovered from his wounds, or his return a illusion of Psycho Jenny, but its more than likely just a error.
