The Apostles were a group of four high ranking Gods that controlled much of "humanities" growth and evolution, wielding more power than any government. They are a major antagonistic force in the manga 'Demon Lord Dante'.

History

The Apostles had controlled the growth of man from the shadows for over two thousand years, spending much of that time hunting down and killing any members of the demon race they could. They engineered the Witch-trials during the 13th century, which ran until the late 17th to 18th century, killing countless numbers of people.

In 1980, when Beelzebub and his Satanists planned to resurrect the Demon Lord Dante, they kidnapped a young Christian woman named Akane Nanjo. Immediately upon learning this, the aide to the Apostles rushed to tell the Apostles in their room of office. Uriel immediately deduces that they planned to use Nanjo as a sacrifice in a Black Mass. The Apostles discuss whom the Satanists planned to resurrect, before realising their goal was Dante, much to their unanimous fear. Uriel tells the aide to summon as many men as he could to launch an all out attack on the Satanists once the location of their Mass was discovered. Uriel would return to his home life shortly after as Dr. Kousuke Utsugi, unknowingly the father of Dante's reborn spirit in the form of his only son, Ryo.
