Piccolos was a descendant of the people of Gomorrah and key member of Beelzebub's group of Satanists. He is a supporting character in the manga 'Demon Lord Dante'.
Appearance
Piccolos cut a tall and imposing figure, towering above most people. He had rough, shaggy hair and a square shaped face.
Personality
Piccolos was a strange fellow, an often calm and quiet demeanour hiding a madman with a flair for the dramatic just beneath. He was highly ranked among his number, seemingly closer to Beelzebub than anyone else, and was willing to die for his people in his attempt to reawaken Dante. He seemed to have great reverence for Satan, thanking him for guiding the demon race during their darkest times.
Abilities
He was shown to be a skilled pilot, having his own helicopter-like vehicle. He was shown to be able to manoeuvre through both military and demonic fire.
History
Piccolos worked as an aide to Beelzebub, the leader of the Satanists. During the approaching advent of Dante's return, Piccolos worked as a scout, seeking out a young Christian woman of good caliber to serve as the sacrifice for a Black Mass. He singled out Akane Nanjo, A university student from a wealthy family.
With Beelzebub's blessing, he led a small party to capture Nanjo. Using a sniper to burst Nanjo's tire as she drove through the mountains, Piccolos approached Nanjo as she investigated the damage, grabbing her and pulling her away as the sniper fired an explosive round at the car, destroying the evidence. As Piccolos held the diminutive Nanjo in his arms, he gleefully warned her of her approaching doom. After tying up and gagging Nanjo, they race her away through the mountains. It is not long before they notice a car tailing them, sent by God's Association. The Marksman gets out to deal with them and does so successfully, but is killed in the process. Piccolos laments his loss and asks for Nanjo to give a prayer for him to the devil, as she begins to cry.
That same night, after Nanjo had been prepared for sacrifice, Piccolos led a sect of hooded Satanists towards the Black Mass, giving his blessing to Satan as he walked, for guiding the demons through their darkest days. Before Beelzebub could plunge his knife into Nanjo, however, the Mass is suddenly interrupted by explosions and gunfire as the Warriors of God come in shooting. Beelzebub hastens the Mass, creating a force field, protecting him, Piccolos and the Satanists who managed to enter the protective barrier before being blocked off. Finishing the ritual, Dante is summoned, his immense presence killing many of the Warriors of God and Satanists trapped outside. However, Piccolos is the first to notice something wrong with the Demon Lord. Karne, one of the chief Satanists confirms it moments later when he spots Ryo Utsugi's face in the place of Dante's. With that, Dante flies off towards Nagoya.
Piccolos drives Beelzebub to Nagoya, listening to the radio as they travel. He laughs in joy upon hearing of Dante's rampage through the city, though Beelzebub had his doubts. Shortly after, Piccolos approaches Dante, in his helicopter-like vehicle, and tries to bring him to his senses, but is shocked when the voice that responds to him was that of Ryo Utsugi. Desperately, Piccolos tries to make Dante remember his true nature. In anguished confusion, Dante lets out a great cry.
Trivia
- Piccolos remained unnamed thirty years, until the release of the 2002 'Demon Lord Dante' anime, and was only referred to as 'Satanist Kidnapper' in material until then. Possibly, his name is a nod to Demon King Piccolo of 'Dragon Ball' fame.
